should say, ‘Now are we sure that thou knowest all things’ (16:30). In all this we see Jesus serenely conscious of His high dignity. As He walked among men He knew that there was that about His essential being which put Him above those around Him, and indeed, above all men. Without flamboyance, easily and naturally, He made the most astounding claims. He possessed such a deep insight into the deep things of God that these claims sound natural. They leave no doubt as to His close kinship to the Father.
